Installation overview and setup
Professional installation is recommended for Fox shock models. Follow the vehicle and Fox service instructions for your exact year and shock assembly. This overview does not replace the applicable disassembly and torque procedures.
- Park on level ground and record the starting ride height. Include your model year, accessories, and usual load when ordering.
- Safely raise and support the vehicle. Unload the suspension before adjusting preload and release spring tension with suitable equipment before removing retainers.
- Replace the selected tender springs while retaining the main springs. Follow the applicable procedure for front and rear shock removal and reassembly, and torque removed fasteners to your model's specifications.
- Lower the vehicle and move it forward and backward to settle the suspension. Measure from the ground to the skid plate.
- Use the table below as your setup reference. Make small adjustments with the suspension unloaded, then settle and remeasure. Keep left and right settings matched on each axle.
